Installation Procedures

To install the 7371-K003 Bagwell Expansion kit, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the NCR Self-Checkout software and hardware systems.
  2. Lift and remove the Scale Tray from the Bagwell.
    Note

    The image below shows a Scale Tray with Backsplash. A Scale Tray may also have a Backsplash and Bagwell Fence.

  3. Remove two (2) screws to detach the Scale Pod Bracket, as shown in the image below.

  4. Remove the Bagwell Panels. For more information, refer to the following procedures:
    1. Removing the Bagwell Panels (Front and Back)
    2. Removing the Bagwell Panel (Fascia End)
  5. Attach the Bagwell Expansion to the existing Bagwell Frame. For more information, refer to Installing the Bagwell Expansion Frame.
  6. Install the Bagwell Panel (Fascia End). For more information, refer to Installing the Bagwell Panel (Fascia End).
  7. Install the Scale Pod Bracket for Scale Pods 3 and 4 by doing the following:
    1. Pass the Scale Pod Bracket under the crossbar of the Bagwell Frames.
    2. Attach the Scale Pod Bracket to the Expansion Bagwell Frame using two (2) screws, as shown in the image below.
    3. Attach the cables to the crossbar of the Bagwell Frames and lance bridges on the Scale Pods Bracket using cable ties, as shown in the image below.
      Note

      Ensure that there is enough cable slack to avoid cables from being stretched during installation or removal procedures.

  8. Install the Bagwell Panel (Front and Back). For more information, refer to Installing the Bagwell Panels (Front and Back).
  9. Remove the Scale Tray Fence and Backsplash from the existing Scale Tray. For more information Removing Scale Tray Fence and Backsplash.
    Note

    A Scale Tray may only have a Backsplash.

  10. Assemble the Scale Tray Expansion. For more information, refer to Setting up the Scale Tray Expansion.
  11. Place the Scale Tray Expansion on top of the Scale Pods in the Bagwell.

  12. Calibrate the Security Scale. For more information, refer to Calibrating the Security Scale.
    Note

    A Zero-Scale Calibration or Soft Calibration should be performed any time the hardware infrastructure of the Security Scale Tray is changed. Use the Profile Manager Lite (PML) application to perform this procedure if screws were tightened, Scale Pods or the Security Scale Controller were replaced, the bagging platform changed, or a Bagwell Fence is added.
