Installing the Scanner/Scale Adapter on Full Function Configuration

To install the Scanner/Scale Adapter, follow these steps:

1. Remove the existing Scanner/Scale Adapter, if necessary. For more information, refer to Removing the Scanner/Scale Adapter.
2. Do the following:
1. Mount the studs of the Left Scanner/Scale Adapter into the holes of the frame and then secure using two (2) nuts.
2. Attach the twist lock, as shown in the image below.



3. Mount the Right Scanner/Scale Adapter into the holes on the frame and

   then secure using two (2) nuts, as shown in the image below.

   

1. Install the LED Strip Bracket assemblies by doing the following:
   Note These LED Strip Bracket assemblies were removed and set aside when the existing the Scanner Adapters were removed.
   1. Mount each of the assemblies onto the four (4) studs on each Scanner/Scale Adapter.
   2. Secure the assemblies using four (4) nuts on each side.

      

1. Reassemble the Bi-Optic Rear Cover and the Rear Cosmetic Cover by doing the following:
   1. Remove two (2) nuts to detach the Rear Cosmetic Cover from the Bi-Optic Rear Cover, as shown in the image below.

      

   2. Align and secure the two (2) studs of the Bi-Optic Rear Cover into the two (2) upper slots of the Rear Cosmetic Cover using two (2) nuts, as shown in the image below.

      

2. Do the following:
1. Attach the Rear Cover assembly to the Scanner/Scanner/Scale Bucket frame by engaging the two (2) hooks on the tabs of the Scanner/Scale Bucket.
2. Secure the Rear Cosmetic Cover to the Scanner/Scale Adapters using two (2) screws, as shown in the image below.

   

1. Attach the Display Support Bracket on the Scanner/Scale Adapter using four (4) screws, as shown in the image below.

   

2. Install the 7879 Scanner/Scale. For more information, refer to Installing the NCR RealScan™ 79 Bi-Optic Imager Scanner/Scale (7879e) .
