Printing receipt messages using the Transaction Dispatch service

Advanced Store has a service, called Transaction Dispatch, that permits customers to supply text messages, barcode text, disclaimers, surveys, item-level information, QR codes, tax stamps, and bitmap images to be printed on the receipt. To enable the Transaction Dispatch service feature, retailers must select one or more valid transaction IDs using the following option:

Specifying one or more transaction IDs in this option also sends POSLog information from the retailer's loyalty system to the Transaction Dispatch service.

Printing loyalty messages

Retailers who use the Transaction Dispatch microservice can use this service as a method for printing member loyalty details and additional lines of text at the bottom of the customer copy of a receipt at the end of a sale, return, or post-void transaction. For example, when the retailer's loyalty system receives a request from the Transaction Dispatch service that a loyalty member has been added, the receipt can provide the current points balance, bonus points earned, and redeemable value. Retailers can also specify formatting instructions for the loyalty message, such as wrap, justified, or italicized.

Printing barcode messages

Another feature of the Transaction Dispatch service is providing barcode text or numbers to be printed on the receipt on top of the barcode.

Printing images

Transaction Dispatch permits retailers to print an image at the bottom of the receipt after the items section. The Transaction Dispatch service can use a resident printer image or an image located on the POS terminal.
