Exchanging Items for Return
After an item is returned, the customer can either exchange the item with another available item in the store or collect a refund for the return price. Similar to return transactions, exchange transactions can also be issued using one of the following methods:
- Using the sale transaction receipt
- Without the sale transaction receipt, but using the customer credentials for validation
Processing exchange transactions might require an authorized user’s intervention. If the Authorization Required screen is displayed, enter the ID number and password of an authorized associate.
Only one member can be added to an exchange transaction. Associates can no longer search, add, or switch members past the Return Entry screen after selecting the reason for returning the items.
The next sections describe each of the exchange transaction methods.
Configurable features
The POS application can be configured with the following features.
