Using EOM configurable options
To create and configure quick menus and quick menu items using the EOM application, use the following parameter groups:
- Quick Menus—this is a multi-record parameter group that enables retailers to create quick menus.
- Quick Menu Buttons—this is a multi-record parameter group that enables retailers to create POS buttons for quick menus and quick menu items.
Configurable features
The POS application can be configured with the following merchandise menu features:
- Enable the Menu Maintenance button on the Transaction Types screen. This option enables authorized associates to access the in-POS menu maintenance functions for the quick menus feature. Refer to Enable Menu Maintenance Button in Menu Buttons.
- For more information about using the in-POS menu maintenance functions, refer to Using in-POS menu maintenance options.
- Enable the Quick Menu button on the Sale Main Menu screen. This enables associates to add quick menu items to sales transactions. Refer to Enable Quick Menu Button in Menu Buttons.
- For more information about selling quick menu items, refer to Selling quick menu items.
- Enable associates to operate the POS in Quick Menu mode, which configures the POS application to display the Quick Menu screen when starting a sales transaction, instead of the Sale Main Menu screen. Refer to Enable Quick Menu Mode Button in Menu Buttons.

- Configure the display settings on the main Menu Maintenance screen with the following options in Quick Menus:
- Specify the number of button rows and columns displayed on the Menu Maintenance screen. Refer to Button Rows.
- Specify the layout style of the information displayed on the POS buttons assigned to the main Menu Maintenance screen. Refer to Grid Stye.
Important The main Menu Maintenance screen uses the configuration of the Main Menu record in Quick Menus. Do not modify the name or delete the record. Modifying the name or deleting the record will disable the quick menus feature. - Create or modify a first level or sub-level quick menu with the following options in Quick Menus:
- Define the name of the quick menu. Refer to Menu Name.
- Define the unique ID of the quick menu. Refer to Menu ID.
- Specify the number of button rows and columns displayed on the quick menu. Refer to Button Columns.
- Specify the layout style of the information displayed on the POS buttons assigned to the quick menu. Refer to Grid Stye.
- Activate the quick menu. Refer to Active.
- Create or modify a POS button of a quick menu with the following options in Quick Menu Buttons:
- Define the unique ID of the button. Refer to Button ID.
- Assign the button to a quick menu. Refer to Action Data.
- Specify the parent menu of the button. Refer to Parent Menu Name.
- Specify the order in which the button is displayed on the Menu Maintenance screen and Quick Menu screen. Refer to Display Order.
- Define the label or name of the button. Refer to Label.
- Define the second line of text that will be displayed on the button, below the label. Refer to Additional Text.
- Determine the background color of the button. Refer to Background Color.
- Determine the color of the label text displayed on the button. Refer to Foreground Color.
- Determine the background color of the button when pressed on The POS application. Refer to Background Color Pressing.
- Determine the color of the label text displayed on the button when pressed on the POS application. Refer to Foreground Color Pressing.
- Define the URL path of the image that will be displayed on the button. Refer to Image Location.
- Create or modify a POS button of a store product with the following options in Quick Menu Buttons:
- Define the unique ID of the button. Refer to Menu ID.
- Specify the order in which the button is displayed on the Menu Maintenance screen and Quick Menu screen. Refer to Display Order.
- Specify the parent menu of the button. Refer to Parent Menu Name.
- Define the label or name of the button. Refer to Label.
- Define the second line of text that will be displayed on the button, below the label. Refer to Additional Text.
- Assign the button to a store item. Refer to Action Termination Key.
- Specify the code of the item according to the store's database. Refer to Action Data.
- Specify the price of the item. Refer to Item Price.
- Determine the background color of the button. Refer to Background Color.
- Determine the color of the label text displayed on the button. Refer to Foreground Color.
- Determine the background color of the button when pressed on The POS application. Refer to Background Color Pressing.
- Determine the color of the label text displayed on the button when pressed on the POS application. Refer to Foreground Color Pressing.
- Define the URL path of the image that will be displayed on the button. Refer to Image Location.
