Applying a trade member discount

If the POS is integrated with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, for example, Salesforce, associates can apply transaction-level discounts for customers who are registered as trade members. Retailers manage customer membership, product eligibility, and discount details in the CRM software.

To use this feature, ensure that the following conditions are met:

• The retailer uses the NCR Advanced Marketing Solution (AMS) software and has defined offers in AMS Logix using trigger codes.
• The retailer has configured the CRM system to return an AMS trigger code when a trade member discount lookup is performed with a trade member ID.

Configurable features

The POS application can be configured with the following features.

• Enable or disable the Trade Member Discount button, and set up other discount menu options. Refer to the following option:
  • Discount Menu Options > Discount Type
• Print the Trade Member ID on the transaction receipt. Refer to the following option:
  • Discounts > Print Trade Member ID on Receipt

To apply a trade member discount, follow these steps:

1. From the Sale Main Menu screen, scan or enter an item bar code.
2. From the Transaction Options, select Discount. The application displays the Discount Type screen.
3. From the Discount Type screen, select Trade Member Discount. The application displays the Trade Member Discount screen.

   

4. Scan or enter the Trade Member ID and select Accept.

   The application displays the following confirmation message.

   

   Note

   The application may also display an information message because of any of the following reasons:

   • The Trade Member ID is blank.
   • The entered Trade Member ID is not valid or is less than 12 characters.
   • The trade member was not found in the CRM software.
   • The trade member data cannot be retrieved because the POS is offline to the CRM software.
   • The items added to the transaction are not qualified for the discount.
   • Discount data is missing from the CRM software.
5. Select Yes. The application displays the items and discount details on the Sale Main Menu screen.

   

6. Complete the transaction. The application prints the receipt with the trade member discount reflected on the receipt.
