Configurable features for enrolling customers

The POS application can be configured with the following features:

  • Customize the loyalty marketing message printed on the receipt from the loyalty marketing message default data table. Refer to the following option:
  • Enable the POS application to display the Enroll Customer screen to encourage membership enrollment when the customer is not found after performing a Customer Lookup. Refer to the following option:
  • Define the text to be printed on the member information chit when the customer has a complete profile. Refer to the following option:
  • Define the text to be printed on the member information chit when the customer has an incomplete profile. Refer to the following option:
  • Enable the POS application to display the Enroll Customer screen when a non-loyalty member is found after performing a Customer Lookup. Refer to the following option:
  • Enable the POS application to display additional fields on the Enroll Customer screen. Refer to the following options:

    Retailers can add the new records from the sample data table to display the additional fields.

  • Enable the POS application to display a confirmation message after selecting the Pay button when there is no member added to the transaction. Refer to the following option:
  • Enable the POS application to display the membership details on the Member Confirmation screen. Refer to the following option:
  • Print a Code-128 bar code on the customer chit. Refer to the following option:
  • Print the member information chit after a customer enrollment. Refer to the following option:
  • Specify whether to print or remove the new loyalty member's address on the member information chit. Refer to the following option:
  • Specify which customer information is collected on the Enroll Customer screen during a customer enrollment on the POS application. Refer to the following option:
  • Disable the POS application from processing new member enrollments during a sales or exchange transaction where an existing member has been added. For more information, refer to Loyalty Options.
  • Define the screen names, help text, and receipt text using the Configurable Text tool. For more information, refer to Modifying the POS user interface and receipt text.
  • Configure the POS application with the following customer information collection options:
    • Specify which customer information is required and optional.
    • Determine the order by which the customer information collection fields are displayed on the POS application.
    • Rename the customer information fields displayed on the POS application.
    • Rename the member enrollment screen.
    • Enable the POS application to allow customers to enter their information using a PIN pad device.
    • Specify which information can only be entered by the customer using a PIN pad device.
    • Specify which PIN pad view states are used for customer information collection for each credit application type.

  • Specify the list of country codes and states available during customer enrollment. For more information, refer to the following sections:

  • Display an information message when an associate or customer enters an e-mail address that does not pass third-party validation. Permit the associate to return to the view or accept the invalid e-mail format. For more information, refer to Customer Configuration.
  • Define the following membership enrollment options:
    • Enter the customer information for enrollment using compatible PIN pad devices. For more information about compatible PIN pad devices, consult with an NCR Representative.
    • Specify whether the enrollment information is entered using the POS or the PIN pad as the default device.

  • Integrate with a payment solution. When the Customer Entry button is enabled, the customer can use the PIN pad to enter customer information. For more information, refer to the following sections:
  • Enable the POS to perform fraudulent customer verification during customer enrollments. For more information, refer to the following sections:
  • Disable the POS application from displaying a confirmation message that prompts associates to add a member to a transaction after enrollment. For more information, refer to Loyalty Options.
  • Disable the Enroll Customer button. When instant membership is enabled, the POS application displays the Customer Lookup screen after selecting Client Lookup. For more information, refer to Item Setup.
  • Display an information message that the customer has declined to provide information using the PIN pad. For more information, refer to Communication Displays.
  • Specify the confirmation message text that is displayed on the POS whenever a customer is enrolled in the loyalty membership program. For more information, refer to Custom Text Templates.
  • Enable the PIN pad to accept the customer’s e-mail confirmation or opt-in or opt-out options for promotional e-mails when the POS is integrated with Common Client. For more information, refer to Information Form Definitions.
