Creating a BIN file

To create a BIN file, follow these steps:

1. From the Input/Output Files tab, use the Browse button to locate the Output BIN file.

   

2. From the radio buttons on the right side, select the type of scanner to flash.
3. Select the output BIN file, and then select Open.

   

   The application returns to the Sound Conversion window.

4. Select Create Bin File. The application displays the following window.

   

   The following image is an exampe of an error message if the task fails.

   

5. (Optional) To copy the output bin file to to specified directory for the Flash tool, select Copy to Flash Directory.

   The following are the NCR RealScan Flash Version 5.0 directories:

   • Program Files directory—a copy of the output .bin file is generated in this directory if the Flash folder in program files is not restricted.
     • Windows 32–bit: C:\Program Files\NCR\NCRRealScan\Flash
     • Windows 64–bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\NCR\NCRRealScan\Flash
   • Program Data directory—a copy of the output .bin file is generated in this directory if the Flash folder in program files is restricted.
     • Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\NCR\NCRRealScan\Flash
     • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\NCR\NCRRealScan\Flash
