Command Line Options
The NCR RealScan Flash utility accepts command line parameters. The following table provides the command line options.
Parameter | Description |

-m | Retrieves the model information of the scanner and displays it both on the console and in the log file, and then the utility terminates. |
-h | Displays the list of options available, and then the utility terminates. |
-f | Retrieves the firmware version number of the scanner it is connected to and displays it both on the console and in the log file, and then the utility terminates. |
-v | Turns verbose mode on and does the operations as configured in the INI file. This option updates the user through console on the progress of the utility. |
In Version 3 and 5 of the NCR RealScan Flash utility, the following command line parameters are added.
Parameter | Description |

-ai | Retrieves the serial number, model number, and firmware version of the scanner it is connected to, and displays it both on the console and in the log file. Then the utility terminates. |
-qsi | Retrieves scanner and imager asset information. |
-ii | Retrieves the class, model, serial number, and firmware version of the imager connected to the scanner or PC. The information is displayed both on the console and in the log file, and then the utility terminates. |
-i [INI path] | Specifies the INI file to be used by the application. This option must be placed after the other options or used as the only command line option. |
-p [hub-port] | Specifies IBM-USB port location (hub-port numbers) of the scanner device. This option must be placed after the other options or used as the only command line option. |
cpt [IBM USB] | Changes the scanner’s communication protocol from NCR USB to IBM USB. |
